What I do

Just plumbing – I am not gas-safe registered, so I do not fix boilers

After doing a fast track course and loving it in 2008, I decided (also credit crunch and no companies hiring at the time) to set up as a sole trader and work on my own. I keep up to date with the latest innovations and regulations online. I love what I do and am always excited to help my customers with their plumbing needs.

I now live in Great Shelford with my family. I have built up my business in the local area of Shelford and Sawston. I strive to give a friendly personal service and am always happy to explain to you as simply as possible the work I do.

Small repairs

I do mostly small repair or replace jobs. And prefer to fix rather than replace, but I’m always led by the customer.

Taps toilets, showers drains and heating systems can be rather daunting and complicated for many people. I strive to understand your system and fix whatever problem you have as quickly as possible and explain everything I do in plain English as far as I can.

Small repair jobs that most larger companies won’t bother with or charge a lot for (because of much higher running costs than I have) are my bread and butter. Tightening wobbly taps, stopping toilets leaking, replacing worn-out valves, fixing outside taps etc…

I carry a good range of parts in the van and more often than not will be able to do small jobs without needing to visit the supplier. If I do have to buy parts for you, there’s a small mark up to reflect the research and travel time.

If you text, WhatsApp or fill in the ‘contact me’ form and start an email conversation, pictures are always helpful for me.

Larger jobs

I also will take on full bathroom refits, including tiling and boxing in pipes (see pics, and more being added soon).

I won’t charge to come and estimate for you (up to a 30-minute visit) and if taken on will work very closely with you to get just what you want.

Rates

I have a set call-out rate of £60 per hour which is payable when I have completed your job. Over an hour I charge to the nearest 15 minutes.

If I come out to you and give advice but don’t take on your job for whatever reason, I may add a discretionary call out charge for time spent advising.

I am not VAT registered so don’t add that 20% on to everything.
